How it works
HAPO Up is a fully passive shoulder exoskeleton — no motors, no batteries. An articulated arm structure integrating a patented composite leaf spring provides support when the arms are raised between 60° and 180°. Support is continuous from all shoulder angles and adjustable independently for each arm via a dial. When the arms are lowered along the body, the system automatically disengages — no interference during walking or resting. At rest, the articulated arms attach at belt level, keeping the device compact and unobtrusive.

FAQ
What tasks is HAPO Up designed for?
Tasks requiring arms at or above shoulder level — overhead tool use, elevated assembly, high-shelf stocking, ceiling work, and any repetitive vertical arm movement between 60° and 180°.
Does support disengage automatically when arms are lowered?
Yes. When the arms are lowered along the body, the HAPO Up automatically disengages. There is no interference during walking, breaks, or tasks that don’t require elevation.
Can the assistance level be adjusted independently for each arm?
Yes. A dial on each side allows the worker to set the support level independently per arm — up to 3.8 kg per arm.
Is HAPO Up compatible with tools and PPE?
Yes. The design preserves freedom of movement in all directions and is compatible with standard workwear, helmets, and hand tools.
What maintenance does HAPO Up require?
Minimal. Textile components are breathable, washable, and water-repellent. The device requires no batteries and no motor servicing.
Who should not use HAPO Up?
Workers with existing shoulder or musculoskeletal conditions should consult a medical professional before use.
