How it works
Hapo SD is a fully passive lumbar exoskeleton — no motors, no batteries, no unlocking mechanism. A composite spring system redirects part of the upper trunk’s load to the thighs via a waist belt, reducing back muscle strain at every angle of forward flexion. Unlike Hapo BACK, the SD provides support even during full forward bending to the ground — including crouching and kneeling positions. Support is continuous and progressive, activating automatically as soon as the trunk begins to flex. No manipulation is required to start work immediately after donning. Available in two spring strengths — Standard and Hard — to match task intensity.

Does Hapo SD have an unlocking mechanism?
No. That is its key advantage — no manipulation is needed. The worker puts it on and starts work immediately. This makes it the simplest and fastest device in the Hapo range.
